With the help of Dr. Fox, Jolly Old St. Nick is a lot jollier with his oral appliance to treat his sleep apnea. After all, there is nowhere to plug in a CPAP machine on his sleigh while making his trip around the world, but he can conveniently take an oral appliance with him on his travels!

A local Santa will be well rested and prepared for Christmas this year after receiving an oral appliance from Dr. Becky Fox to treat his sleep apnea.

Dr. Fox of Fox Dental in Lemoyne is one of about 30 doctors across the state who offers oral appliances to help treat obstructive sleep apnea. Santa knew he needed to get help as soon as possible because if left untreated it can lead to serious effects. So he made an appointment with Dr. Fox and has been receiving treatment for several weeks now, just in time for the holiday season.

Dr. Fox has been treating dental patients in Central PA for over 20 years. In 2019 she became certified as a Diplomate with the American Board of Dental Sleep Medicine. She is a member of the AADSM, AASM, and PA Sleep Society. Currently, she is a member of the Annual Conference Committee with the AADSM. Dr. Fox maintains a general dentistry practice in addition to her focused interest in dental sleep medicine.

Dentists pioneered the use of oral appliance therapy for the treatment of obstructive sleep apnea and snoring in adults. Dr. Fox was able to help a local santa by fitting a custom made oral appliance that repositions his jaw and prevents his airway from collapsing while he is sleeping. An oral sleep appliance can be an initial mode of treatment, or an alternative to CPAP and other surgical options.

Jolly Old St. Nick is now much jollier with his oral appliance to treat his sleep apnea.
