Important Notice about Delta Dental

The Verber Dental Group has decided to offer care to our patients with Delta Dental benefits on an out of network basis. Our aim is to remain in communication with Delta Dental. If we are able to negotiate a partnership that allows us to continue to provide quality care, we will reconsider network participation in the near future. As of now, Delta has set our network termination date for October 14, 2024.

We hope to remain your dental home. Our team will submit insurance claims on your behalf. Please note that Delta Dental will send payment directly to you. For your convenience, we offer financing options through Cherry and CareCredit for payment at the time of service.

Delta Dental Insurance and Financial FAQs

Why are you no longer going to be in network with Delta Dental?

For 50 years, our mission at the Verber Dental Group has been to make the very best dental care affordable. We accept most dental plans. With your support, we have been able to build a comprehensive dental health system that serves the Capital Region with 17 general dentistry and specialty practices. We do not ever want to compromise the level of care our patients receive.

Since the pandemic, we have been faced with provider shortages and inflationary pressures. Reimbursement from Delta Dental plans are significantly lower than other dental insurance companies and are not at levels that cover our costs. We have been able to find efficiencies and capture savings on multiple fronts, but we will not cut costs by sacrificing people. Our team members, from the treatment coordinators at the front desk to the hygienists to the assistants and dentists, are deeply committed to the care and hospitality you experience at our offices. We have come to the difficult decision with Delta Dental because we felt it would be impossible to retain high quality providers with current network reimbursement.

Will Delta pay for my dental appointments?

Delta will pay you directly for any covered dental treatment completed with us after October 14th, 2024.

Dental insurance is designed to assist with dental costs, but it rarely covers extensive treatment or the full fee. Most procedures may only be partially covered or have limitations. For accurate information on your benefits, we encourage you to contact your insurance provider. As a courtesy, we can submit a predetermination for those who want a clear estimate of their potential reimbursement.

When will I need to pay for my dental appointments?

We will collect payment at time of service, submit claims, and Delta will reimburse you for any covered amount.

What if I have treatment already planned?

We will honor network discount amounts for any treatment plans that have been estimated prior to October 14th.

Can I still enjoy discounts and savings?

We can offer discounts for payment at time of service for larger comprehensive cases involving uncovered services.

You may also be able to take advantage of our own excellent dental discount plan that offers a low membership fee and substantial savings on dental procedures. Learn more at verberdentalplan.com.

Can I Set Up a Payment Plan?

Yes, we strive to make the financial aspect of your dental care as straightforward and affordable as possible. We offer flexible payment plans and 0% financing for copays and fee for service costs through Cherry Payment Plans, ensuring you can continue to receive the dental care you need.

Will you ever reconsider network participation with Delta Dental?

Yes, our mission is to be a 100% doctor owned dental health system that provides comprehensive dental care affordably to our community. If we can negotiate reimbursement equivalent or close to average insurance network rates we would like to rekindle our partnership.

We also will reconsider if costs and workforce shortages can be addressed.

Can I help with the workforce shortage?

Yes! We are actively engaged in efforts to create opportunities for individuals seeking careers in dentistry. There are over 2 million Pennsylvanians that have little or no access to dental care, and we want to make a difference.

The Verber Dental Group and The Verber Family Foundation have committed over $125,000 to date to scholarship funds at Central Penn College for individuals looking to become dental assistants, extended function dental assistants, dental hygienists, public health dental hygiene practitioners, and dental business associates.

If you or anyone you know would be interested in a rewarding or lucrative career in dentistry, please take a moment to learn more about scholarships and programs at https://verberdentalgroup.com/careers/dental-scholarships/.
