In a recent ABC27 Good Day PA, Dr. Michael Verber and Ann Hoffman of Central Penn College shared exciting news about the college’s dental programs receiving the prestigious Pennsylvania Coalition for Oral Health (PCOH) Changemaker Award. Ann Hoffman, program director of both the dental assisting and expanded functions dental assisting programs, has been instrumental in building these programs from the ground up. She works closely with students throughout their journey and develops valuable relationships with dental providers to continuously improve programs based on industry feedback and needs.

The recognition from PCOH is particularly meaningful as the organization serves as the voice for patients and advocates for oral health care across Pennsylvania. At PCOH’s recent summit, surrounded by dental stakeholders, policymakers, legislators, and educators, Central Penn College was honored for taking a comprehensive approach beyond just quality education programs. Their efforts include developing dental community relationships, accommodating both traditional high school students and adult learners, providing scholarships, and offering affordable housing.

The college has a dental assisting program starting in January, offering an excellent opportunity for those interested in entering the dental field. Students can learn more about scholarship opportunities, made possible in part by the Delta Dental Community Care Foundation, at CentralPenn.edu/scholarships.
